I moved from San Francisco to Santa Monica about 2.5 months ago.
I didn't notice at the beginning but after I finished my apartment setup, I looked through my window and I thought:
"This building looks like the Nakatomi Plaza". It wasn't just a resemblance, it was the Nakatomi Plaza !!!
The most famous appearance of this building was in the 1988 action film Die Hard with Bruce Willis.
One of the best movies I saw.
So I decided to visit this building (outside only) and I went twice. First time in the evening and the other one during the afternoon.
I took some pictures and below is the result:

After my first visit around the Nakatomi Plaza, I ventured to Santa Monica downtown and I found an event called "Movie Fridays" and they were featuring a screening of Die Hard right there on the street.
They even offered participants the option to either bring their own hats or provided hats based on whether they believed Die Hard is a Christmas movie or not.
I tried a bar next to the place and I watched a little bit of the movie from there with some beers!
I watched the full movie at home the day after. Usually I watch Die Hard once a year.
