Revamped Website and adding a Blog

Blog

I took one week of vacation with a lot of projects in mind so I decided to add a Blog on my website and I would like to write an article per month (at least). I don't have any experience about Blogging and it's my first Blog. The good thing is I'm not afraid to break out of my comfort zone so I will try this experience. I will target topics about technology, gaming, coding, science, improvement (e.g. performance), tips & tricks, review (e.g. movies) or any kind of topics I like.

I use Amazon Web Service (AWS) for hosting my website. It's a good price, excellent reliability and availability. My entire website is static (compared to 2006 where I used PHP with dynamic pages) and for dynamic info/data, I added Disqus to be able to post comments. Don't hesitate to comment or contact me if you have questions.

Revamped website

By adding a Blog, I think it was a good idea and timing to upgrade the website. I will go more in detail with the next post on why I upgraded the website but one of the main reasons was to fix some bad rendering on mobile devices.

For this case, some Youtube videos were outbound of the mobile resolution like that:

Same thing for the text and links:

Some pages was larger than the mobile width:

[Tip of the post] Google Chrome provides a good tool to simulate various devices rendering. If you press F12 on your keyboard, It will open the "DevTools" panel and you can select different resolutions.

The evolution of the website

I did this website to test the E-commerce in 2006 with my own screensavers. At that time I was using PHP and MySql for the website and C++ and DirectX for the screensavers. I did a daemon to generate automatically a license when a user bought a screensaver through PayPal and sent by email.

The second version was created in 2014 with more projects I did.

Now is the third version where my goal is to be more mobile friendly and more up to date. I will add new projects and content soon!!!
