Here are the main chapters from the movie (e.g. Teasle presentation, escape scene, final scene).
For the location, you can type "Rambo" in Google Map and you will find specific spots (e.g. Rambo Carving, Rambo Street, Rambo Poster, Rambo Bridge).
The "Midtown Shopping Plaza" panel is still there and some commercial buildings kept the same shapes.
There are wooden statues of Sheriff Teasle and John Rambo where the police station was.
The angle from where John Rambo leaped in motorcycle is not accurate but when I was taking pictures of this place,
I heard a motorcycle and waited until the motorcycle crossed on the railway.
The cliff jumping scene was filmed at Othello Tunnels (Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park) which is a 15 minutes car drive from Hope Downtown or
2 walking hours...
The tunnels are not visible inside the movie.
The Othello Tunnels are five former railway tunnels built through the granite walls of the Coquihalla Gorge in 1914.
They were part of the Kettle Valley Railway created to connect the Kootenay region with the British Columbia coast.
The park gate is usually open between April and October.
Less is more!
It seems that the first draft version of Rambo was 3 hours with cheesy quotes and it was not great.
Good idea that they cut Sly's dialogue. The movie story is also different from the book.
For Hope, the bars and restaurants have a lot of Rambo's references.
If you go to the Mountainview Brewing Co., ask for a "First Blood Orange".
Try the Rambo breakfast at Sharon's Deli restaurant. Both were pretty good!
There are 2 gift shops close to the restaurant and in front of wooden carving statues that sell Rambo stuff.
If you want more options, go after 4e avenue, there is a shop called Stratus.
For a long time I didn't do a filming location, it was nice and I will try to do it at least once a year!
