Back to the Future was released 40 years ago, and the photos below are from my visit in July 2024.

When I went back in December 2024, the DeLorean was missing due to the Christmas event.

Universal Studios Backlot - Courthouse Square

Courthouse Square is located at Universal Studios and was used as a filming location for Back to the Future 1 and 2.

Many other movies and TV series have also been filmed in this iconic area.

Movies: Gremlins, To Kill a Mockingbird, Psycho II, Sneakers, Weird Science, The Nutty Professor, Escape from L.A., Batman & Robin, Amistad, Bruce Almighty

TV Series: Knight Rider, Magnum, P.I., Sliders, Falling Skies

The Offspring & Extra

While writing this blog post, I discovered that the music video for The Offspring "Why Don't You Get a Job?" was also partially filmed at Courthouse Square.

Back to the Future II - Tunnel Scene (Battle for the Book)

The tunnel is short!

I don't quite recall, but I believe it was in the documentary The Movies That Made Us where they explained that the spacing between the lights inside the tunnel was intentionally varied to create the illusion of a longer tunnel.
